IMPRESSIONS - what participants echo
- M: We practised cooperation and communication between departments, after the training we have established relationships and what to do in case of difficult situations, so we will definitely cope.
- A: Very effective training, I will try to apply as many of the new elements I have learnt here as possible in our department. I’ve just been promoted to a higher position, so I’m coming away with super knowledge and new skills, which I’ll put to use straight away. I’ve appointed myself a buddy / support partner with whom we agreed supporting each other in applying new behaviours and habits in the department, which we will also use in our regular team meetings in our department and our organisation.
- A: I have attended a lot of trainings after which nothing happened and nothing changed, e.g. Time Management, Team Management, etc.. Now I have seen a huge change through this year in us as a team of Directors and I am impressed to be honest that so much can be done through this year thanks to this programme. It has also meant self-development for me. We have found new ways to challenge ourselves and solve problems within the team and between teams. I am very grateful.
- E: I see more openness in the team, without forcing it and giving instructions. There is more sharing of information between departments. At my place I see an order, I talk differently to the employees and we organise the work much better and talk about delegating responsibility.
- A: Very nice training, and I learnt a lot about how important psychological safety is for an employee, that we can make mistakes and we can learn from the lessons learnt. So when we have ambitious goals to meet and they are fraught with the risk of mistakes. We talk about the fact that mistakes can happen and that everyone can learn from it and give feedback. I am more open to feedback and self-improvement as a manager.
- A: With a formula and a clear goal at the beginning, we walked the way and planned the change. The retrospective exercise of our teams was very cool because it showed us where we still need to be careful. It’s nice that we have buddies-partners to further implement the changes, because we know we are not alone and we can get feedback if we overreact somewhere. We don’t have to agree, but we can give ourselves feedback without fear. Thank you for the nice facilitation and our management for coming up with this form of training. I’m glad that we were able to allow ourselves to work in trust and bring up difficult topics openly.
- Q: The training has shown that previous decisions have worked in several areas, and in some areas it has given us the realisation that we may still lack the competence to implement change effectively. It is possible to experiment. The training changes the perspective and shows how to effectively implement new behaviours and habits. How not to force solutions, but to engage in decision-making.
- N: I believe that dividing this training into 6 areas is the essence of our management in the company. The workshop opened our eyes to many aspects in those areas of our work where we can apply and correct new habits and behaviours and work on continuous improvement. I think it was a well organised workshop because we leave the training with developed actions, vision and mission. Unlike many other trainings, this was a concrete workshop that ended with a concrete action plan that we see in front of us and what we have in terms of the next months or years to work on. We contracted together here to achieve these goals.
- L: The training series has opened up a wider view of many areas for me. Despite many personnel changes in the process, the core of the team has remained the same. We will now support each other in the pairs that have formed, which will be effective because we are aware of the common goal and tools. We will jointly guard the values we have developed for ourselves and practically implement them. The work ahead of us is to consolidate the new learned behaviours. We will cope better in stressful situations.
- M: Thank you for organising and leading the training. It was great that we had the opportunity to reflect and implement new behaviours in the cycle. I am prepared to manage my team better. I look forward to exchanging experiences with the rest of the team in my daily work.
- A: I am glad that we chose this training and that after the series of meetings we are a different team, in tune and prepared for difficult situations.
- I am amazed by the training and what level of energy was released amongst us, there was a lot of interaction and involvement and I haven’t had training like this for many years. Thank you so much for leading in such a way and for the results.
- I was surprised by the scale of how and in such a short period of training you managed to release the collective energy and willingness of the team to work together. It is amazing to see the effect, which shows how collaboration makes every task very easy.
- I had never known such tools before, and in the training I didn’t know the roles at the beginning. I was afraid that we would be very chaotic. I expected something like this. We experienced a very mature collaboration. I knew and remembered some of the models and theory, but it is useful to have a refresher, and here the formula was engaging enough and highlighted all the theoretical aspects in action between us.
- I was surprised and pleased that in such a short time we had created a super team that communicated virtually without words. I don’t like computer games, but I was surprised by the incredible euphoria and joy we had after completing the first task. I think if you get the team involved like that, a flow is created instantly and you can have the effect of a lot of joy in collaboration.
- I really liked the formula. Time passed by very quickly – different from other training courses. Even leaving out the virtual reality, which I liked a lot. In addition to the technical topics and steering with the ship and helicopter team, the human-to-human relationship was important to me without the old hierarchical approach. Everything is changing and moving towards better management. I am very satisfied with this training.
- I see the importance of cooperation between the teams, which I was able to see here on a living organism and how to transfer that to the business. If the customer stands at the centre then we will achieve the goal.
- I experienced something tangible during the training and observed that it is possible to build a committed team in a short time. The last interaction showed that, despite a full day of workshops, we wanted even more. Regardless of being seasoned leaders, every now and then it is useful to repeat ourselves and consolidate what we have learned here. I am very happy that the training was another boost to refresh ourselves with managerial knowledge.
- Even a formula that teaches practically with role-playing behaviour is not as realistic as working on a living organism. We didn’t just practise, we lived through real situations and learned from these situations, which we were able to recall and look at our communication. We had to deal with a lot of different people and we had to find our way in those situations. I have a lot of observations that if we give time and communicate with support, understanding and respect, it then pays off. This training is mega effective and works out well in the end, unlike the usual role-play.
- I’m coming back with a different energy and will keep coming back to these new different methods, without pushing or giving orders. It’s hard to be a leader and it’s worth taking care of your mental health and using these methods, in attention to the needs of others.
- I wanted to say that for me it was fascinating to see how you put yourself in a friendly environment with people, you don’t disturb them, you give them a lot of trust, which we had during the simulations and rehearsals, it all comes together. However, during the last rehearsal at the end, we didn’t have to communicate anything to each other because we understood each other’s goals and needs – it was an incredible pleasure when everything went smoothly and we developed a harmony of action.
- I value the honesty and openness between us. The fact that we gave each other space to make mistakes. It’s gratifying to know that we are the leaders and that this is the direction we have developed that the company will also be heading in.
- After the first day, I didn’t quite catch the VR world link with the theoretical world – it was very disconnected for me. It was fun to play, but I didn’t want to focus on the business. On day two, I connected all the insights to our business world and what lessons I could apply.
- Coming into the training, I was a bit sceptical and suspicious. I thought that maybe I would somehow survive the training and not be active, but it turned out that the group work and the sharing of roles and responsibilities kept me engaged the whole time. I can say that this was the best team training I have participated in so far.
- I’ve been in this job for 13 years and I’ve had to change a lot to get to where I am. The people we manage also need to be guided through change. Feedback is needed because after the feedback exercise it came out that we weren’t necessarily doing things perfectly – we got feedback that there was chaos, so we gradually learned how to improve.
- Being in a technology company, if we don’t start applying new management methods to the organisation, that organisation won’t be there in the future. And it’s not about modern management technicalities, it’s about getting back to emotions – that’s what we experienced today, what we forget so easily at work – emotions.
- I am against computers, but the experience in VR convinced me. Despite my attitude – I enjoyed it.
- I’m against going into role-plays during trainings. VR helped me to get into a role, to behave in a specific environment. VR can be used not only for specific routine training instructions. During this workshop I was able to enter a role freely for the first time and learn with pleasure. It was much easier for me to get into a role and if there were people with a similar problem in the team, it was easier for us to work.
- The training was very inspiring. I didn’t look at my watch once during the two days of training. The only dissatisfaction – I wanted more.
- This training for our group, apart from the theoretical input and the tools we learned, caused that I really enjoyed the group, the exchange and the conversations we had. In VR we interacted and talked more with each other. I was very inspired because we stepped into a new role, we were at the same level of competence in a new environment.
- We have been managers for quite some time and it is hard to surprise us with new ideas and trainings. We have such a wealth of knowledge and experience that we are reluctant to think about the next training and going through the same things again. Here it is completely different. I have attended many training sessions, but on this training the findings and learnings were immediately to apply.
- The best training and training session we have been to with the team. The use of VR for soft skills development is an absolute revelation for me. We will be planning sessions for more teams right away.
- My inspiration as leader is that I should sometimes stop and say out loud “I do not know”. I learned the power of sharing intent and saying out loud. We need to share information as we work on the project, as without it the success of the whole team is impossible.
- This is a very powerful tool for leaders to learn how to create competent teams, develop clarity and care about communication in the team.
- The simulation is very useful. You learn understanding how leadership works and how leadership cannot work in a completely different environment and different roles to that that you normally execute in a daily business. I think that makes a difference when compared to other VR training where you do not just learn a specific function, but it makes it possible to feel Leadership meaning. It brings a completely new feeling about how leadership is working. It is a very useful tool.
- Session was really nice from the Consulting perspective. If the target of transformation I manage as a consultant in different organisations, is to lead with leaders who will continue the change process – they need to learn these behaviors.
- The most important part of every change in general is experience. The simulation gave me a realistic opportunity to experience what it means to have a different role at different set-up of organisation and how I behave in such situation.
- I appreciate what trainer showed us as the alignment between theoretical models and the VR training, in the way that you would not control the takeaways we get from the training. Instead trainer created framework and educational situation – where the unknown and findings come from the participants experience and merge with theoretical models. I really liked it, the way we can understand the difference and alignment of top management vs. middle management, to create leader to leader communication. It gives a perfect illustration that modern leaders should be and how lean management should be.
- I want to really thank trainer for the great facilitation, even when the group might not be easy. I appreciated him as a person, and the space he created for us to learn so effectively. I will use this simulation in my consulting business.
- It was great for self awareness how I act in a different place in another role and with different responsibilities we had in the temporary mission team. I received a lot of insights and feedback about how I think.
- The format of using the simulation kept me fully focused on learning new things and not being somewhere else with my thoughts. Thank you so much.
